Pop Culture Pop-Up – Reject Reality Shows

NY Mag teamed up with TV execs to dish out this dirty little secret: There are reality show pitches that are so ridiculously absurd and awful, even Snooki says no. Many of them involve monkeys. For example, TV execs decided the American public would not be interested in an “Amazing Race” style show where contestants have to literally carry monkeys on their backs. It’s creatively called “Monkey On My Back.” I might have tried that! There’s also another reject called “Fertility Island.” Wait, how is that different from “The Bachelor”?
