Start this weekend off right with an educational (read: frightening) visit to the Environmental Working Group website, where you can explore such gems of information like cell phone radiation facts, the cosmetic safety database, and a shopper’s guide to pesticides in produce. Frankly, the chemicals and toxins companies sneak in the things we use everyday (lipstick! iPhones! lettuce!) is terrifying. Some good food-shopping advice I got once: Avoid edibles that come with barcodes. And if you don’t want to feed your human family pesticides, why not stick to organic for your pet’s diet as well?
